Site Questions
Can I submit my own content?
Yes! Whether it’s a video, screenshot, or a written review, we’d love to see what you’ve got. Derp Storm is built as a community hub—so feel free to post a user review on the site, chat about it on our Discord, or even submit something for editorial review to be featured as an “official” piece. All contributions are welcome!
Do you cover all recent releases?
Not exactly. We’re not a breaking-news or review aggregator. Instead, we focus on what our creators and community are currently enjoying. That might be a brand-new title—or something from decades ago. It all depends on what people are passionate about and choose to share.
Where are the forums?
We don’t use traditional forums. Instead, we host a structured Discord server with dedicated channels for discussion. You’ll find links to join on our homepage and in the site footer. It’s free to join, and includes both text and voice chat options.
Can I request a game be added?
Absolutely. If there’s a game you’d like to see featured, let us know—we’re happy to create a hub so you and others can contribute content. Requests for reviews or videos are also welcome, though they depend on whether someone in the community has the time and interest to create them.
How can I support the page?
The best way to support us is by getting involved: follow and subscribe to our Twitch stream, join the conversation on Discord, browse the site, and share your thoughts through comments or reviews.
We may explore donation options in the future, but for now, we’re just excited to have a passionate community hanging out and sharing what they love.
Do you run events?
Back when we operated as Here Be Games (a tabletop store), we hosted monthly events—mini conventions, really. While that chapter has closed, the spirit lives on through monthly game days at Orana Community Hub, run by Rohan. These events are free, welcoming, and a great way to meet friendly folks. Details are available on our Facebook page and the Events tab on this site.
What does registering for the site do?
Creating an account or logging in unlocks your personal profile area, where you can customise your experience across the site. Just click your name in the top-right corner to access the following sections:
- My Reviews
View any reviews you’ve submitted—whether they’re still pending or already approved and live on the site. - My Posts
Check out any news articles or opinion pieces you’ve written. - Games I Follow
Click the “Follow” button on any hub page (game, film, book, or TV series) to get notified when new content is added. The section is still called “Games I Follow,” but don’t worry—it tracks everything. We’re working on renaming it soon 😊 - Activity
See your recent activity, favourites, mentions, and updates from your Derp Storm friends. - Settings
Change your name, email, password, and notification preferences. You can also export a copy of your account data if you’d like.
From the Settings of Activity page you can also view the following tabs to further customise your experience:
- Profile
Update your profile and cover images to make your space feel more like you. - Notifications
Browse your read and unread notifications. If you’ve opted in, you’ll also get these via email. - Messages
View direct messages from other members or site notifications. This section isn’t used much since most of our chatting happens on Discord. - Friends
See who you’ve connected with and manage any incoming friend requests.
Something is missing / broken on the site. How do I let you know?
The easiest way is to use our contact form or send a direct message to SpankenTank on the Discord server.
